The mission of Christian education at Mount Hope Church of Christ is to provide a nurturing atmosphere in which people of all ages may learn how to achieve the abundant life and their full, God-given potential in knowledge, maturity, unity, and service in our shared faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Through participation in the Christian education program at Mt. Hope Church of Christ, the Christian will
1. Attain a thorough knowledge of the Bible, both Old Testament and New Testament.
2. Learn, understand, and believe the central doctrines of Christian belief about the person and purpose of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
3. Learn and understand the process of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, especially God’s grace.
4. Learn and understand the role of the Son of God and the Spirit of God in the everyday Christian walk and grow in resemblance to Jesus in heart and action.
5. Learn how to discern good from evil and make the proper moral and spiritual choices, as explained in the Bible.
6. Learn how to consult the Bible for answers to life’s questions and solutions to life’s problems.
7. Develop confidence in individual Christian beliefs.
8. Learn how to pray and seek the will of God.
9. Learn how to recognize individual talents and use them for works of service.
10. Seek unity in the faith and closer fellowship with members of God’s family.
The goals listed above are considered to be characteristic of the Christian’s learning through a whole lifetime. At the end of one’s life, these should be characteristics evident in every Christian’s life, which the church’s education program seeks to achieve.
