Welcome to the Mount Hope church of Christ, a church that loves God, loves people, serves others and makes disciples. We are honored you are checking us out and hope that you find what you’re looking for. If not, be sure to check out our contacts page and let us help you find your answers.
At Mount Hope we believe Jesus left very specific instructions for what He wanted His bride to do to represent Him and bring Him honor and glory. In His final words before He ascended into heaven he said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20) We believe the ultimate mission of the church is to make disciples and that in doing so, He will be with us!
We decided that a disciple does four things. They love God, love the people made in His image, serve their community and make other disciples who make other disciples. Here at Mount Hope, we love God by spending time with Him getting to know Him better and as a group in celebration worship! We love to get together as a body and celebrate His goodness in worship and adoration! The entry point for someone at Mount Hope is to come and check us out on Sunday and find out what it’s like to worship and adore the Living God with lots of people that are madly in love with Him and more concerned about pleasing Him than getting their own way.
Once you’ve connected with the Mount Hope family in worship and feel good about that, our second level is to teach you to love the people made in His image. We do this in our Connections Small Groups ministry. This is a place you can sit knee to knee, eye to eye and share life on life! This is the place we process the Word we’ve been taught and learn to walk it out in our everyday lives.
Our connections small groups do at least 4 service projects a year. We invite everyone who is in our group to join us as we serve others. Once you’ve helped serve in a small group, we ask you to commit a time on our weekends to serve. We believe that we look more like Jesus when we’re serving others than anything else we can do.
After getting involved in our service, we ask you to prayerfully consider someone else who needs what you just found. We ask you to commit that name to prayer and we come along side you in prayer and pray with you for the person you’ve told us about. You then, look for an opportunity to invite that person to join you for celebration worship and we complete and repeat the process (disciples making disciples).
Come and join us in our journey to fulfill the Greatest Commandment (love God and love people) the way to be the greatest in the kingdom (serving others) and in fulfilling the Great Commission (making disciples). And may God bless you in your pursuit of Him.
